What happens when you link to another page of your blog or outside your blog just for the page to load over the current? That makes you reload the page and probably waste your time. Readers don’t like that. The best practice is to open the link in a new tab.
But not every reader remembers to choose that option. But you can set all links to open in a new window (by force). In this post I’m sharing how to do that easily on your blog. To do that, just follow the steps below.
- Logon to your Dashboard
- Click the Templates tab
- Backup your template in case you make any mistake. Click the Backup & Restore option and download full template.
- Click EDIT HTML
- In the template editor, hold CTRL+F and search for the code
- Now just above the code in step 5, insert this code
- Save the template.
And that’s it. With this, a reader stays longer on your blog as they keep reading while the page loads in the background.
